Biography
Karin Burrows founded Harbor & Vale Law in Bristol to provide focused, commercially minded legal support to small and mid-sized businesses. She has advised clients across a broad range of sectors on commercial contracts, trademark registration, dispute resolution, and business formation, helping them protect their brands and resolve conflicts efficiently. Before establishing the firm, Karin trained and practised at regional commercial firms, where she developed a reputation for clear advice and practical problem-solving. She is known for working closely with founders and management teams to understand their objectives and deliver legal solutions that align with their growth plans. Karin also regularly speaks at local business events on contract risk and intellectual property strategy.
Education & Court Admissions
Karin earned her LLB from the University of Bristol and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Bristol, graduating with distinction. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2011 and has since maintained an active practice focused on commercial and intellectual property law. Karin is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and is a member of the Bristol Law Society. She is also a qualified trademark attorney, having trained through the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys. Her court admissions include the Senior Courts of England and Wales, and she regularly appears before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and the High Court in trademark and contractual disputes. Karin has completed advanced training in commercial mediation and is an accredited mediator with the Civil Mediation Council. She keeps her knowledge current through continuing professional development in contract drafting, trademark prosecution, and alternative dispute resolution. In addition, Karin has completed the Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice from Queen Mary University of London. She is a member of the International Trademark Association and regularly speaks at legal seminars on brand protection.
